I went to the Speedlube in Morton yesterday to get the oil and filter changed in the #Blazer. First the guy puts it in Alans name because he read the license plate, saw LEGEL and decided I must be Alan. Then, after a bit, he comes in the waiting room and tells me I have to come out in the shop so he can go over the problems with your car.
I told him all I wanted was the engine oil and oil filter changed. He tells me he is just trying to do his job. I didnt say it, but I think his job is to change the engine oil and filter like I told him to.
He keeps giving me the canned speech about my transmission fluid, my transfer case oil, my rear differential, etc. etc. etc. I keep telling him in the flattest tone of voice I can manage, Just change the engine oil and filter.
Finally he gives up, rolls his eyes, and goes back out. I look out the window and he is putting the cover back on my air filter so I guess he was hoping to sell me one of those too? I dont know.
When I get the bill I see he has put all his recommendations in a little box with the prices. I think maybe the prices are the part he is most interested in.

#Piaggio Tracey and I rode our scooters to have lunch at Wendys yesterday and we went up Allentown to Veterans Rd. I noticed the speed limit on Veterans from Allentown south to Court St. is still 45 MPH. I wonder how many people will get tickets because they think all of Veterans Rd. is 55 MPH? Pretty sneaky.

Yea, Speed Lube is not high on my recommendation list for oil changes! Ive heard way too many scary stories about them and their help.
Well, exciting times over here....we are trying to adopt another kitty. It belongs to a friend of mines daughter. She is getting married and her husband to be is very allergic to cats. So, of course, I volunteer to be its new mama! (Dave was just thrilled!)
We used to have three cats so I dont see the big deal. Ashley and I brought him home yesterday. Ashley and Noodles spent the afternoon in her room with a baby gate across the door.
Our Queen cat had to do a little growling and a few hisses to show him who was queen here at this house. Im hoping they can become a little closer today!
And.....Dave has his cataract surgery today! Oh boy! If you ever have to have cataract surgery, the first question you ask before you pick your dr. is What time of day does the dr. do his surgeries? We learned that right away.
Originally, the eye center told Dave nothing to eat/drink after midnight. Oh, they dont tell you the time of your surgery until the day before -- guess nobody has a life!
They call and say to arrive at 12:30 (surgery isnt until like 1:30 or 2 or something). I gripe about the eating. They say he can have broth, jello before 6 a.m. Yea, right! I wanted to say that Ill drop him off to you and you can feed him those things!
The surgery people called a couple of days ago and that person said oh, no, he can eat until 8 hrs. before. So Dave got up at 5:30 and ate breakfast. Hes working until 11 since he cant do anything else!
Another good question too is What day does the dr. do surgery on? Daves does Wed. afternoons only. Dave gets to miss a half day today and all day tomorrow. Then he can work Friday, but he cant bend over or lift heavy things. His job involves lifting and bending! Gee, would of been nice to have surgery on Thurs., the 24 hr. check appt. on Friday, rest on Sat. and Sun. and then go back to work. Hes just going to have to be very careful Friday at work!

Hi Tammy, Hope all goes well for Dave. I share your distaste for the callous treatment received by the Medical Mafia. They make my quarrel with Speedlube very minor indeed. It is always hard for me to accept that some medical types can be so careless about the needs of their patients.
