We had quite a turn-out at the Cracked Barrel last evening. Drew, Liz, Tom, Alan, Gloria, Tracey, DD, Mom and I all squeezed around one of the round tables and dined together. Lots of good food, good talk —— and Cindy the waitress.
I literally got soaked getting into the place. The rain started coming down hard just as everyone was getting out of the Blazer when I dropped Tracey, Mom and DD off at the front door. By the time I got parked it was raining buckets. Sploosh!
Our Internet service is still sucking greatly. I can see no reason to call them though. I just keep hoping somebody will eventually accidentally fix it.
Ahhhhhh.....so nice to have a young Legel in the house!
I know it will be too short of a visit for me, but at least he can visit!

So... here’s how I started my day...
I needed to make a little more coffee since there’s an extra mouth here this morning. Coffee maker almost done when I hear this exploding type sound. I thought oh, great there goes the coffee maker! At least we don’t work tomorrow if it decides not to work.
I went about my business and finished reading the Sun. PJS, doing laundry, and drinking my coffee. We are going to a fish fry today and I’m taking some food so I decided it was time to get going on making the food.
I walk over to the counter and there’s why I heard the exploding type sound...my whole watermelon on the counter had exploded! There was watermelon juice and parts everywhere!
I’ve never had that happen before so, of course, I ran to Google! It told me that it did that because it was rotten. I just bought it Friday night and it was one of the things I was to take today. Guess I’ll move on plan B...right after I clean up the mess!

Holy exploding watermelons Batman!#* I don’t think I have ever heard of that happening before but I suppose it makes sense. Still, it is better than an exploding coffee maker!

I’ve heard of melons “exploding on the vine” from becoming rotten/overripe, but never “exploding on the counter”
