The weather has cooled down considerably. The other night we had left the windows and doors open in the sun room and just after dark the gas log turned on. We turned it off but that is the first for the season from air conditioner to furnace from one day to the next.

I finally have an appointment to see a pulmonologist later this month. I just hope my #CPAP mask holds together long enough.
I really wish the Medical Mafia would allow simple equipment like this be sold over the counter. It makes no sense to me that I should need a prescription to get a CPAP or any of the attachments. Blatant greed on their part.

My upper lip and most of my nose was numb yesterday until well into the evening. Whatever the #Dentist used to numb my jaw so he could grind up my tooth really worked!
My tooth is all fixed but I still have some sensitivity to hot and cold. I discovered that with my first sip of hot coffee this morning. Guess Im going to have to learn how to drink coffee out of the side of my mouth? Maybe I should use a straw. Now wouldnt that be cool? Not.

Geez...you would think you could just go to like Pekin Prescription Lab and get a new mask. Hmmm...I wonder what my dad does. Maybe thats why he had to visit the sleep dr. not too long ago. Silly and frustrating!
I had to go yesterday back to the family dr. Seems my triglycerides went up just a little since last year. So, I had to pay to hear that and for the nurse practitioner to tell me to go buy some pill over the counter and take that too.
I did make them give me all the lab results since I had to pay for the visit. The nurse could of just told me that over the phone. I should of been a wise guy and when they ask their first question: Are you in pain today? I should of said yes, this appt. is a pain!

Hi Tammy, Yes, this entire sleep Dr. nonsense had been a waste of time and a lot of money. It has cost me over a thousand dollars in office visits, sleep lab, equipment, etc. to get a breathing machine I should have been able to just go buy at Kmart or Walgreens. There is absolutely no way it can can be misused or hurt somebody. We had the same nonsense years ago when we needed a nebulizer for Noahs asthma when he was little. Fortunately he outgrew that.
I really push back on the appointments. I am really trying to make the point that I make the appointments, not them. I always have them mail the labs and I call them every day to bug them about it until they do.

Yea, they mailed them last year. I usually try to do labs BEFORE I go to the once a year visit so I can get cholesterol meds. renewed. However, this year my dr. left and I had to see a new one.
They dont want me to do labs until after I see the new dr. Well, I found out 2 things when I went: 1. Im not sure I really like the new dr. and 2. I have standing orders in the computer!
So, next year will be me getting labs before I see the dr. and Im switching to a different dr. within the OSF group.
I tried the lady dr. and that was enough for me! I tried a lady dr. in college and didnt like her either.
IL Eye Center released Dave and told him to go back to his eye dr. for new lenses, etc. Well, Dave told me that he could see fine. Also, when he had his regular eye appt. this summer, nothing was mentioned about needing a different prescription. Of course, they called to schedule the appt. I let the answering machine answer and we wont be making an appt. right now as long as Dave can see! Next year is soon enough!

I take stuff for my triglycerides but I refuse to mess with cholesterol meds too many possible side effects and my numbers are good enough anyway.
They have a stricter standard for diabetics but my numbers are usually well within what is considered normal. Besides, they dont really know enough about it to even know what harm cholesterol does or doesnt do.
I dont want to be a guinea pig. Sugar really raises the triglycerides so just dont eat any for a couple days before the test and you will probably have better results.
New Report Shows High Schools Are Misleading (Or Lying To) Students About Labor History

Interestingly enough, my textbooks did explain both sides of the labor disputes up through the 40s--they went over the horrible conditions and what the unions pushed for, as well as the violence and disruptions of service that resulted. That said, we didnt have anything in them after the 40s.
