Yesterday was quite a hectic day that turned out much differently than I had expected.
I decided to go to the Honda dealership in Peoria to get the splash guard on the Hybrid fixed. They said they could work me in and I wanted to get it fixed before we drove here to Decatur. While I was waiting I decided take a look at the #VW Beetle they had on the lot.
Tracey has really been wanting one with heated leather seats and this one fit that bill. It also has low mileage for a 2007 model, only 32,000 miles.
I called Tracey and we decided to buy it. The rest of the day was a flurry of phone calls to get the money, insurance, etc. The deal was done by 5:00 and we were on our way here to Decatur in a shiny red VW bug!
I had originally thought about trading the Honda but they didnt want to give us as much as I thought it was worth. And until we get A & B through ICC it will be nice to have another car so we arent always having to schedule rides, etc. Especially when one of the cars has to be worked on. I wont have to drive Tracey to work and back just so I can have a car.

Cool car! I know the vehicle sharing stinks. Right now, my van is making a clunking sound in the front drivers wheel area when I turn right mostly. We have no extra cars so that I can take it in. I called my mechanic and left him a message yesterday asking him if I could bring it by for a look-see after work some day. Then Ill have to figure out how to go vanless to have something fixed. Morton does have a taxi.
I noticed yesterday that I have a rubbing on my drivers side rear bumper. Somebody got too close to my bumper! I sure dont remember that being there! Im really thinking it was one of the parents that bring a kid to school! Geez! Ill probably never know. You can bet the next time that Im outside with kids, Ill check out all doors and back corners of vehicles!

Good morning Tammy, Ive got a couple nasty door dings on our Blazer that really tick me off. I will never understand why some people treat cars so terribly. I know when they bash into my car it also scratches theirs doesnt make any sense!
How much did they want to give you for the Hybrid? Kelly Blue Book shows the trade-in value at around $7,000 for mine, so your should have been higher.

Hi Noah, They said $8,000 but I thought that was lower than what we could sell it for ourselves. We mostly decided it would be nice just to have enough cars to go around for all of our drivers, especially since it seems like one of the cars is always needing repairs.

Around $8,000 seems reasonable for trade-in but, of course, you arent going to get as much money for a trade-in as you would for a direct sale because the dealership has to factor in profits. That said, I dont think you could find someone who has the cash to buy it outright at the moment. Keeping it was probably the better bet .
