Tracey and I stopped to pick up Snake-n-Shake for supper on our way to Mom’s to eat with Mom and DD. I had to tell the girl what I wanted on my burger twice, and still got it wrong. I wonder why they bother to ask? Alan and Glo joined us shortly after we arrived. Alan was hooking up some new remote phones when we were leaving.


Mom called just before 10:00 to say her DSL Internet connection wasn’t working and I immediately assumed it was because of the new phone connections. I don’t know but I think each phone is supposed to have some kind of frequency trap on the line.

I told Mom to disconnect those phones and try again. She called back a couple times before it finally started working again. I still don’t really know if we fixed anything or if it was just a coincidence her router connection dropped out at the same time the phones were connected.

As long as she has at least one phone working and her Internet —— I guess it can wait to go look at it. It is always something.

Part of our conversation last night was the quality of our local newspapers, journalism, etc. I was thinking of the article below where the headline really doesn’t have much to do with the arrest of a man for theft. I think the sex offender headline is mostly just to grab your attention and is one of several reasons why I don’t subscribe to the newspaper anymore.

A Mackinaw man convicted of having sex with a 13-year-old girl five years ago avoided prison in that case, but not for a recent theft conviction.
