“England Beats the West Indies by five Wickets” —— that is what the headline says. I think that is cricket? You know how a train of thought gets derailed and you head off on another track. I thought, is that cricket? I don’t know anything about cricket —— maybe I should look that up to see how it is played. And then my brain derailed and I was mentally transformed to 1968 with my nose in an old red World Book Encyclopedia trying to figure out how to score strikes, spares, etc. in bowling because my brother and I were planning to go to Rosewood Lanes and go bowling. That was in the long ago when everyone had to keep their own scores scratched out with a leaded stick on a chunk of pulp paper. Forget about cricket, I’m lost on Memory Lane on my derailed train of thought.

I was out running errands in the Volkswagen and on the way home I decided to stop and check the mailbox. I happened to glance down to see the odometer was reading exactly 40,000 miles and thought it coincidence enough to snap a quick cell phone picture.
