My husband and I had just finished tucking our young ones into bed one evening when we heard sobbing coming from three-year-old Eric’s room.  Rushing to his side, we found him crying hysterically.  He had accidentally swallowed a penny and was sure he was going to die.

No amount of talking could change his mind.  Desperate to calm him, my husband palmed a penny that he happened to have in his pocket and pretended to pull it from Eric’s ear.  Eric was delighted.

In a flash, he snatched it from my husband’s hand, swallowed it and demanded cheerfully, “Do it again, Dad!”

I spent some time reinstalling Windows 8 on Tracey’s tablet.  There will still be a lot of programs that need to be reloaded and settings to be reset.  I can’t help but wonder how many years it will take Microsoft to improve this crapware to the point it is marginally reliable.

Tracey made the boys go to Pekin with her to load up her new treadmill.  She has been shopping for one for about a week now and finally decided on the one she wanted.  It is in the living room still all boxed up so I would guess later today it will get unboxed and assembled.

We “ate in” at Mom’s last evening.  DD was kind enough to go to Stake-a-Shake and get burgers, fries, etc. for all of us.  It is nice sometimes not to go out.  Al & Glo were there too.

The headline below is a sad example of how the right leaning media continues to misinform people about health care in America.  The health care law didn’t decrease the number of doctors ... it increased the number of people with access.  But that’s a good thing and we have to make it look bad so we pretend it caused a doctor shortage?  And then they go on to bemoan the fiction that there aren’t enough doctors when in fact doctors are spending entirely too much time making money instead of treating patients.  There are very, very few people who actually need to go to a doctor’s office every three months, or even every six months.  Once a year for “routine tests and checkups” is actually overkill (pardon the pun) for the average person.  Remove the vast majority of people sitting in doctors’ offices who aren’t ill or injured and you would have a lot of empty waiting rooms.

Doctor shortage likely to worsen with health care law

My treadmill is a very nice clothes rack in my laundry room!  :)  I bought it many, many moons ago.  The only way it will go is if I make it go - no motors at all.  It’s really hard to make it go too.
Today is a fun filled day with Jackie Duvall and family.  She has a couple of cousins visiting so we are all getting together to meet them.  I’m sure there will be lots of eating and nibbling going on today!

Hi Tammy,
Tracey got a nice big one with a motor, adjustable incline, etc.  We used to have one many moons ago but it broke and we never repaired it.  She decided a new wider one would be better than trying to replace the motor and belt on the old one.  Have fun with Jackie and family ... say “Hey!” from us.
