People who want to share their religious views with you
almost never want you to share yours with them.

A friend went to the kitchen window to check on her two-year-old son, who was playing in the yard with some older children in the neighbourhood.  She was horrified to see that they were feeding him an earthworm.

She quickly opened the window and screamed at them, “Don’t feed him worms!  They’ll make him sick!”

They looked up at her puzzled and asked, “Was he sick yesterday?”

Busy day yesterday.  We took Mom to Steger’s furniture store in Pekin where she picked out a nice power chair for her living room.  She tried out several before deciding on one.  We stopped at a Pekin restaurant for some lunch and happened to run into Michael T., his wife and Michael’s father.  I was mildly chastised for talking to Michael when I was supposed to be ordering my lunch.

Later in the afternoon Tracey put her treadmill together.  I helped a very little ... mostly just holding things while she attached them and tightened the hardware.  She got it all together but it took about twice as long as the 1.5 hours the instructions claimed.  Of course there were some extra and misplaced bolts, etc.  Tracey did walk a mile on it though and is quite pleased with how quiet it is and how well it works.

Oh ... and I forgot to mention that throughout the day yesterday I finished up re-installing Windows 8 on Tracey’s tablet.  It didn’t get to my blood pressure too horribly as I would set it to a task of downloading or installing and then just walk away from it for a while.  Still, I am pretty disgusted with how unstable the software is and how clunky the interface is.  Hopefully the finished product scheduled to come out in October will be better because Tracey really likes it on her touch screen tablet.

Well, no “coffee with you” until Aug. 7th!  We are leaving this morning for a much needed vacation.  We are starting in Rockford with the Anderson Tea Gardens.  Tues. thru Mon. then will be spent in and around Holland, MI.
So, hold that thought.....  :)

Good Morning Tammy!
Have a great trip!  Hope the weather is fair, mild and pleasant and all your days are long and fun!  We need a vacation too but I don’t think it will happen for a few weeks at least because of all the confugalties of Tracey’s job.

I just got back from a short run to town.  I wasn’t planning on going until I discovered I was out of one of my blood sugar medications.  Walgreen’s is supposed to “auto refill” but they didn’t.  I should have known better than to rely on them.  No big deal, I called and they said they would have the refill ready by 8:30 this morning.  So I took Tracey to work, stopped by the grocery store for a few things and then to Walgreen’s.  They gave me 5 days worth of pills and told me “the rest of your 90 day supply will be in after 3 p.m. on Wednesday.”  Seriously?  A major drug chain can’t stock a very common pill for more that a 5 day supply?  I guess I should just go back to ordering them a week ahead of time, but that wasn’t working so good either.  It is always something!

Wacky headline for the day.  I really don’t care what people do to themselves or what they want to call themselves, but I don’t understand how changing your sexuality alters a person’s gender at birth.  I’m having a hard time with this business of rewriting history.  The vast majority (as in almost everybody and infinitesimally hard to measure otherwise) of people are born as one physical gender or another.  What is the purpose in trying to change that FACT retroactively?  For example, the bearded lady that has had a couple children was not a pregnant man ... it was a woman who altered herself physically by removing her breasts and taking hormones to grow a beard.  That didn’t make her a man.
