I finally made the phone call to make an appointment to have somebody come out and repair our clothes dryer. Also going to have them check out the washer while they are here to see what it would cost to replace the diverter valve that keeps it from finishing the regular wash cycle. They are supposed to call me back Thursday morning to arrange when they get here. I guess I’m just supposed to wait around all day for them? What happened to getting a confirmed appointment time instead of “some time Thursday”? Having appliances fixed costs as much or more than a visit to the doctor’s office!

Dave and I rode the motorcycle to Farmdale and walked one of the trails. Good idea....just not after 2” or so of rain. The two creeks that we needed to cross were up and rolling. We had to tiptoe very quickly through the first one. The second one had two big rocks that we could use. It was a stretch to use those rocks though! Of course, we had to “hop” them again to get back to the bike. It was getting pretty dark by the time we had hopped the last creek and were headed back to the bike when Dave noticed that his glasses had fallen out of his pocket. It was too dark to go back so we are going to go creek “hopping” again this afternoon. We didn’t hear a splash, but they could fallen in anyway. I doubt that we will find them, but we’re going to try.

Sounds like quite the adventure Tammy! I hope you find his glasses too! Those things can get expensive to replace —— although the Internet place we use is considerably cheaper. (zennioptical.com if you are interested in case you can’t find them).

So how do you use the internet for glasses? Does that place call your eye dr. to get the prescription? Dave was due for his yearly eye exam, but we were just putting it off until I was getting a paycheck again. I told him to just go to Walmart this year because I think it would save us some money. He needs to get the eye exam and get the correct prescription now that he’s had cataract surgery on 1 eye. Supposedly with his new eye insurance, he gets 1 free lens replacement a year. Supposedly! I think I’ll check out where you get your glasses though. Thanks!

#Zenni All you need is the prescription information including the distance between eye pupils. We always have the optometrist print out the prescription with this information so we have it. We just got a pair of prescription glasses with nice frames for Aaron and they were only $67. On this web site you can even upload a picture of yourself and then see how the glasses you choose will look on you. Pretty cool. It is a good idea to also pay attention to the lens and frame sizes for the glasses you choose so you know if the the frames are wide enough, etc. We just use an old pair of eyeglasses that fit well to compare the measurements. Zenni is where we have bought all our eyeglasses for the whole family for the past several years. We just fill out a form to send along with the receipt to get a reimbursement from our insurance.
