Mom and I survived the trip to #OSF yesterday —— now she has to hurry up and wait for the test results to make their way through the system to the doctor and back to her.

We stopped at the #BobEvans in E. Peoria on the way home and the hostess explained that she was seating us next to “some very special people”.

It was a couple tables full of guys wearing military style fatigues. I noticed a couple of them had S.W.A.T labels on their ball caps.

They left shortly after we sat down and when the hostess came by again I asked her why they were special and she said she thought they were some kind of military veterans.

I told her about the S.W.A.T. label on the hat and she kind of frowned and shrugged.

Not that police officers don’t deserve respect, but I see no reason to wear the quasi-military garb to eat breakfast.

#Memories
I noticed on the way home from Mom’s that they had cut down and burned a very old tree that used to stand just outside the north edge of Groveland on the east side of Springfield Rd. I don’t know if the drought got it or it was damaged when they widened the road but is sure is sad to see such a great big old tree down on the ground dead.

This is the sad outcome of the despicable and phony #PaulRyan “photo-op” at a soup kitchen. I was afraid this would be the inevitable outcome in an America that is so focused on politics we even wield our charitable donations politically.
