I never even left the house yesterday. I know that sounds so decadent —— and it was —— but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It is so nice not to have to watch the clock or have anywhere to be. And I am not trying to rub it in or anything? I really hope everyone has such a day every now and then just for the sheer freedom.


We have been watching The West Wing from beginning to end and I had forgotten how accurately this show portrayed the Dimocrats absolute spinelessness on matters of political correctness.

Time and again the GQP wins a round simply by threatening to do some dastardly thing. The Dimocrats spout platitudes, grind their teeth while bemoaning the immorality of the GQP and then they cave in.

About fifteen years ago I had an opportunity to speak with a senior vice president of the #UAW union.

I tried to explain to him that the issues of two tier wages, benefit reductions, etc. would eventually come back to haunt Detroit and the auto unions.

He smiled at me and with smug self satisfaction tried to explain to me that the auto unions in Detroit were the biggest and strongest in the world and that just because we were forced to swallow these things at #Caterpillar —— it would NEVER happen in Detroit.

Not only do all of the auto plants now have two tier wages — Michigan will become a right-to-work-for-less state next week.
