Arrived at the Pine Campground at 5:50 p.m.
Rode around a bit - past the barking dog at a motor home and a couple tent camping - to site A3, where I settled. (The dog couldnt see me from there. Not much later, the mobile home left with the dog.)
Rode 43 miles, averaging 9.1 mph moving speed, according to my DeLorme PN-20 GPS. Got the bike unloaded, cleared some pine cones from my selected tent area, and got set up.
Called Tahdra to let her know I made it, then rode the empty bike up the hill to Park Headquarters, but they were closed. However, I was able to get a park brochure.
Time to make a fire. There was wood everywhere. The only thing was, it was pine and didnt last long.
The sun had set, the fire was out. Time to check the bike battery: 12.60 volts, or 95% state of charge! So, thats 20% over 27 miles. Roughly, every 1.35 miles gives me 1% charge. Im pleased! In fact, Im happy with how the whole bike is performing, less the kickstand.
Nothing left to do now but go to bed. It was predicted to get to 50°F overnight, so I set out a pair of hand warmers and my emergency space blanket, figuring I might need them later.
