This message is from Tammy about my Aunt Jackie —— Tammy tried to post it last night and my spam filter blocked it. I put it on yesterday’s page late but will put it up again here because it is important family news.

Jackie had her surgery today on her lip to remove some cancer spots that have returned. Dick called Dave tonight to report in. Now, this is from Dick and through Dave so hopefully it’s pretty accurate.

Dr. said that he had to remove quite a bit of her bottom lip to get all the cancer, but feels that he got it all. He sewed her tongue to her lip to get blood moving through it. They ended up keeping her all night so she should go home tomorrow. Dick said they had her pretty drugged because of the pain. She can’t talk or eat so she is on a feeding tube. She goes back to the dr. in a week. The dr. did say that he doesn’t know how much more he can cut on her. Let’s hope that this cancer stays away for a long time! This is not the same cancer that was in her mouth. This is the cancer on the outside of her mouth. The dr. told her a long time ago that the cancer that was inside her mouth can kill her, but the cancer on the outside won’t. I don’t know exactly what that means or if it’s good or bad.

Let’s just hope for a speedy recovery from this surgery!

I really feel bad that Jackie has struggled so much with this cancer. It has to be devastating to have so many relapses and complications. My heart goes out to her so much.

I figured out why Tammy couldn’t post this yesterday when she wanted to. My spam filter won’t let the word “ugg” through because it is a brand of fashion boot that is relentlessly spammed to blogs and overloads them. Tammy had used the word “drugged” and “ugg” is part of that word.

Sometimes technology is quirky and spammers definitely suck when they cause this kind of filtering. [I had to go to the blog manager and insert all the words with “ugg” in them in case you are wondering how I got to use them and Tammy couldn’t.]

I also went back and put up family pictures back to 9/25. I got so wrapped up in my Blog Backup Problem that I neglected my pictures! So I uploaded those and you can see them by clicking on today’s picture and then going back through them. I am also happy to say that #Yahoo finally figured out whatever the problem was and fixed it. I can now do my regular backup and I can quit obsessing about that and find something new to OCD about!

That pretty well sums up the media spin. And the media really doesn’t get that the goal is to shut government down. Obamacare is simply the latest excuse.

These idiots don’t need a reason other than they want to brag that they shut the government down. It is like asking why people climb Mt. Everest. Because it is there is the popular answer. I watched Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow last evening and they really summed up the entire fiasco.

I was especially disturbed to see the Tea-Idiots cheering and clapping as they left Congress —— congratulating and backslapping each other and absolutely giddy with their contempt for America. There was also a snippet from Maddow about the smell of alcohol on the floor of Congress as this link from Michael T. attests.

This link from Michael T. is also very enlightening. And as harsh as it is about the insanity of the Tea-Billies and the media that enables them —— I think the author is giving the media and the GQP too much benefit of the doubt. Since the GQP represents the rich cats who own media there is no “neutrality” in most of the media but an active role in abetting the GQP in their anti-American antics. I don’t think there is that much separation between the media and the GOP to say whether the media is pushing America to the right or that the GQP is dragging the media and America to the right. Either way —— until we get some truth in journalism we are screwed as a nation and the laughing stock of the world.

[Added Note] I forgot to mention that this link is to Aljazeera —— the very mention of which can send some psuedo-patriots to froth at the mouth. Another failure of American journalism —— the idea that “foreign” news agencies are lying to us but the American news media doesn’t. Actually it is almost exactly the other way around. Watch BBC news some time for some sadly hilarious views of how Europe sees Americans as a bunch of buffoons. And we are buffoons if we continue to let things like this contrived shut down continue.
