The latest news for Mom is that they have found some irregular areas of her bones around the lower spine fractures and believe it is possible there is more going on than simple fractures.
By this they mean there is the possibility of advanced osteoporosis or some other bone affliction. The doctor was very reluctant to say the word cancer but admitted that it was always a possibility.
They took more scans last evening of those areas to determine a good site to do a needle biopsy. In the mean time they are keeping Mom stable and administering pain relief.
It is likely she will be released to a skilled nursing facility next Monday or Tuesday and I have given them Pekin Manor as a first choice.
I spent most of yesterday morning and afternoon at the hospital and I think DD spent last evening there. Tracey and I plan to go over again this morning.
