We went to #IHOP in E. Peoria for a late breakfast yesterday. We hadn’t been there for some time, at least since they went under new management.
The food seems OK but the atmosphere has changed somehow. The service is slower and doesn’t seem as genuine. I don’t know how to describe it because they are friendly and helpful but they don’t seem to really mean it.
I know it sounds silly to say but when they ask “How are you?” I don’t get the feeling they are really asking it but just saying it because they are supposed to?
I can remember when we had real conversations with the old staff; the new folks seem more like servants and less like people. That doesn’t quite place it either but maybe you get the drift?
