I don’t understand why when we destroy something created by man we call it vandalism, but when we destroy something created by nature we call it progress.
A few days ago I noticed my phone was losing the battery charge very quickly and I couldn’t get through the day without charging it again. After two days of that I just turned it off for a while and since turning it back it seems to be back to normal.
When I think back to just a few years ago I couldn’t imagine having to “re-boot” my phone to make it work. I guess Microsoft no longer has the corner on bad software that needs to be rebooted to work?
Ben came home last evening. He will be spending a long weekend with us but will be running errands while he is here. He needs to do some school stuff and get the oil changed in his car. It will be good to see him when we can.

Ohhhh, I just want to paint the Lemur’s fingernails!
Armpit fudge was a huge hit! (Imagine that!)
We had LOTS of fun talking about and playing a game about monkeys, chocolate, and the rain forest. We used chairs for trees/monkey homes & I was “man” that came in and cut them down to show how the loss of trees hurt the monkeys.
I do have to give them credit for one thing though, when the first tree was cut down, a monkey came up with the plan to share her tree with the homeless monkey. That was ok for awhile, but then too many trees were cut down. It really was a good discussion yesterday!
The funny part about the fudge was seeing these little five-year-old armpits trying to squeeze a big ziploc baggie under their arms! It tasted yummy when they were done squeezing too! I know one year, a little girl went home and she told her parents all about the rain forest and saving it. She was VERY serious about it too!
I love it when the kids take home a piece of school and share it at home. I created a “food Nazi” one year during the nutrition unit. I have his youngest sibling this year and the mom told me that he’s still that way most of the time!
Spring break for me.....eight hours away!

Good Morning Tammy, At least you send the kids home with real and interesting information. I can still remember fuming over some of the political nonsense Tremont teachers tried to instill in our boys. Sounds like you all had a great time! And YES! —— even a little time with Ben or any of our kids is golden and we love every minute of it. We would love to lock them up and smother them with love but we gotta let them live. Darn it!

I agree.... Darn it! I just told my “little” girl last weekend that I didn’t have kids to ignore them, but to bother them! That’s a mother’s right!
