Yesterday I was in the kitchen loading up the crock pot for supper when I discovered there was no hot water. I went down to the basement to see what was wrong with the water heater and discovered water was cascading from the laundry room into the basement.
I rushed to shut off the well pump. I went up into the laundry room directly above the water leak and discovered our pipes had frozen. There was no hot water because the hot water tank had emptied into our basement via the busted water line.
The #MoldRemoval workers had evidently opened the windows to get rid of the fumes and then left without closing the windows. The laundry room is unheated.
The temperature has been below zero. What a mess. We will be spending our weekend sawing a hole into the laundry room wall and fixing pipes. I sent an email to the mold remediation outfit and the guy said he would send somebody over to help make repairs but I don’t honestly think I want these people in my house again.
