Anju, a western lowland gorilla, holds her week old newborn in the Gorilla World habitat at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden in Cincinnati. The baby, who has yet to be named, is the 50th gorilla born at the zoo since 1970.
Lazy day yesterday. I managed to get the window air conditioner out of my bedroom window so there was less cold air seeping in at bed time last night. We still need to cover the one in the sun room. We are slowly getting things winterized.

#Memories I woke up this morning thinking about my pea shooter from 4th grade. Have no idea why.
Some time after Christmas when I was in the 4th grade I acquired a plastic pea shooter. It was probably about a foot long and big enough to shoot a navy bean pretty good. I remember I had been messing with it one morning before going to school and had stuck it in my back pocket.
Immediately upon arriving at school the teacher snagged it out of my pocket and put it in her desk drawer. She refused to give it back at the end of the day and told me she would return it on the last day of school.
I fretted and worried about my pea shooter for weeks and on the last day of school I asked for it again. She had thrown it away. I was devastated. And evidently devastated enough I woke up fifty years later thinking about it.
Just goes to show how what an adult thinks is silly and worthless can seem so very important to a 4th grader. I never, ever fully trusted a teacher again. Still dont.
