#Memories I was out mowing yesterday. And as often while mowing my mind wanders and bounces with the monotony of the work.
I noticed it was getting dark in the west and I thought maybe I should head for home. In that moment a memory came instantly to mind. It was of me mowing in that same field wondering that same thought.
I pictured my eldest son, probably around 8 years old, pelting towards me in his bare feet and waving his arms. I turned off the mower and drove the small lawn tractor toward him and shut off the engine so I could hear him. I imagined there was some dire disaster for him to chase me down!
Out of breath he told me, Mom says to get in the house RIGHT NOW! There is lightning!
And as if on cue a blue bolt arced a ways off, followed by a distant rumble.
I also saw the look of terror is his eyes. If Mom thought Dad might get hit by lightning it was just as possible that HE might suffer the same fate. I immediately told him to run back to the house and I would be right behind him.
Even though he must have realized this possibility he didnt tell his mother NO! He ran right out to save his father from instant death. And in his mind I think he was probably dodging lightning bolts as he ran across that long field. I made sure to thank him many times for risking his life for me, although I knew there really hadnt been that much risk at the time. I just kept thinking how scared he must have been.
It isnt every day you get to thank your son for saving your life. Thanks again Noah.

I had a ton of problems again this morning with our #Frontier DSL connection. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with my computer so I turned on the hot spot on my cell phone. Connected right up and worked fine.
So I called the DSL people. My first try didnt go too well. I was connected with somebody in a foreign country who insisted on lecturing me about not being promised any certain speeds. I hung up.
I called again a few minutes later and got somebody who was more interested in fixing the problem. He ran a line test, agreed there was a problem and put in a ticket. I then called Rory, our local maintenance tech, and told him about my problem and the ticket status. Basically the lights are on but nobody is home with the DSL service.
Rory called me back a while ago and said he had worked for an hour or so to fix the problem. It is going great now! Thanks to Rory! I know I give the repair people a hard time on occasion but today I am all smiles for a change.
