Obviously I agree that the mass killings are wrong, immoral, etc. Yet I can see no realistic way of preventing them completely. I also don’t think all the hysteria is really adding anything to the solution. I’ve seen so many posts, comments, news stories, etc. about the AR-15. It wasn’t even the weapon used.
There are those who say it doesn’t matter what you call it, they are all the same. Obviously they aren’t. I really think it is all semantics if you don’t understand the difference between semi-automatic and fully automatic. High power? Military Grade?
The emphasis on the word “assault” really isn’t all that relevant either. I think people just run out of exciting words to describe their anger and they just start throwing these words into the conversation. But then it isn’t a conversation. Just an accusation.
If America decides to confiscate all firearms I think it will cause more trouble than it will prevent. In the end I think lunatics will find a way to kill people. Some measures will prevent spontaneous actions, but those who plan to kill and know they will die in the process will continue to inflict themselves upon the world.
