I woke up yesterday morning to the sound of the sump pump running. Our furnace condenses a good bit of moisture when it runs and dribbles that water into the basement sump.
The sump pump wouldn’t shut off because the drain line is frozen again. This happened once last winter and I thought I had fixed the low spot where the water collects in the flexible drain line. Evidently I didn’t.
I unplugged the sump and hope it warms up enough in the next few days to get the frozen plug cleared from the line and I can move the drain hose so it will drain properly without freezing up.
Otherwise yesterday was uneventful. I even took a trip to the grocery store with no untoward confusions or aggravations. Amazing.

And so it begins before The Clown ever gets installed into the White House. First Amendment rights blocked on public lands to prevent embarrassing The Clown.
The National Park Service, on behalf of the Presidential Inauguration Committee, has blocked access to the landmark by filing a “massive omnibus blocking permit.” This will bar protesters from most of the National Mall, Pennsylvania Avenue, the Washington Monument, and of course, the Lincoln Memorial for days and weeks before, during, and after the inauguration, which will take place on Jan. 20, 2017.
