Tracey is on the road every day but one this week. Yesterday she made the trek to Aledo, IL and today she will be going to Ottawa. Eventually she will wrap up her commitments to her old job and will only have one job to do. Fresenius has never been very good at managing transitions from one job to the next and every time she has to finish stuff from the old job while trying to get a handle on the new.

#BreakfastAlan I had breakfast with my brother last Friday and one topic was the Marquette Heights Police Dept. Facebook page. The department recently posted about a new police car and among the photos was a Photoshop of Hillarity in the backseat of the car wearing handcuffs.
There were some dissenting comments from people who didnt think it was appropriate for the police to be taking sides politically. On Sunday the page had an apology.
Yesterday Luciano had a piece about the handcuffed Hillarity photo.
Then today there is an apology from the cops for the apology. Along with the admonitions that
1. If you want to complain about a post, we may delete your comment. 2. If you want to whine and re-post the deleted comment, we may ban you from the page.
Guess that explains why all the dissenting comments have disappeared? Also a disclaimer that the page has no affiliation with the city.
Alan says WEEK 25 also did a story about it. And wouldnt it be poetic if the national news got hold of this bit of partisan kerfuffle? Im no Hillarity fan but I have to wonder how the MH cops treat a suspect with a Hillarity bumper sticker?

Disappointed that the history.com article on Al Gores concession fails to mention that he in fact won Florida after all was said and done, regardless of official certifications.

Hi Michael, Yes. The more I look at these history stories the more disappointed I am about the exclusions and alterations. This is the third history site I have used for my posts and lately I think about dropping it altogether. But I also think maybe it is at least entertaining to read the updated version of history as the years pass.

Also, as an aside to the above about alterations to history, I think this continual rewriting has lead us to the point where the rewriting is happening in real time. We now have at least a half dozen different narratives from different points of view about the Russians hacking our election with everybody claiming their facts are the only real facts. It is almost impossible to trust any news today.
