What happened in England recently is awful. There is no getting around that and I dont want to minimize that by what I say next.
I keep hearing commentary about how brutal and evil it was to kill so many children. It was and is appropriate to say so. But
I dont hear the same sentiment when a drone kills innocent men, women and, yes, children. Maybe because the original intended targets were bad people? Because then they are collateral damage? I just have a hard time not condemning the righteous attitude that WE kill innocent children because we have an imperative to kill evil people and that sacrifice of innocence is somehow acceptable.
I have no suggestions about how we break this cycle of killing, but I dont think we are on the right track.
