Happy Labor Day!
At one time in my life I was deeply involved in unionism and still consider myself a Unionite and union activist. It was my great good fortune and a wonderful coincidence to have retired with a good pension on Labor Day.

Some of you will be nodding in agreement that workers are much better off today because of the efforts and solidarity of unionism.

Others will be shaking their heads in the belief that all those wonderful benefits were simply handed out by benevolent employers.

If you are old enough to read this and don’t know the history of unions, I can’t educate you here or on social media and I doubt you would read much further anyway. But, please, take a moment and Google a few things. You might be surprised to learn something.
