Today is Hobbit Day!

I usually check on the obituaries every day. I understand when a famous person dies the local news might announce that, but I really don’t understand the local hometown #Obituary column including total strangers on the page just because they had a lot of money. Most of us don’t know anything about these people, don’t really want to know anything about them and really couldn’t care less about them.

Is it necessary for the media to pay inordinate homage to dead rich people? Would the media world ostracize them if they didn’t publicize the death of every billionaire? Especially when us little people have to pay to get a decent obituary written that appears for more than one day in the paper?

It happens all the time. An officer starts shouting at the same time they are throwing you to the ground and cuffing you. “Stop resisting!” is a favorite.

As if they have a right to throw you to the ground when there was no probable cause to approach you in the first place.

This won’t stop until lawless cops are jailed for assault.

Police don’t need better training; they need to stop
treating noncompliance as justification for violence.
