I first saw this meme on Facebook and have seen it lately on other social media. The commentary seems a mix between religious conviction and support of the working class getting a day off work.

I’m on the side of the day off work but I don’t feel it has to be Sunday. I would prefer a work schedule that allowed the employees to choose two days off each week and overtime for any voluntary overtime over 5 days / 40 hours.

Having a #Union job spoiled me that way. And I would like to see every worker have the same consideration.

Timing is everything. Yesterday afternoon Louie and I were down for a well earned nap when somebody started knocking at our door. Louie went ballistic. I struggled to get my sleeping mask off and the breathing machine turned off.

By the time I got to the front door there was nobody there. I went to the kitchen door and I see some guy with a clipboard knocking on my neighbor’s door. I almost went out to yell at the guy but realized that was probably a bad idea.

I don’t know what the guy was selling or what he wanted. And I probably would have only been mildly irritated had I not been sound asleep. But this aggravation is becoming my greatest pet peeve about living in town. People are too noisy and rude.

Upon a little further thought. If you have something you want to sell me —— mail it or send an email. As much as I hate spam and junk mail I can still consider something if it seems likely I might want it or the price is right. Knock on my door and I’m almost certainly going to get irritated and send you away with an angry glare.

I don’t even drop in on people I KNOW uninvited and I sure as hell don’t want complete strangers dropping by to pound on my door.
