#PCHSReunion I had a great time at my 45th high school reunion last night. I staked out a table early and didn’t really circulate much. People would wander by and stop to talk. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who had to look at a name tag to place the face.
It was so good to see some of the people I only see so rarely at these reunions. Some seem not to have aged much and others I hardly recognized.
I spent some little time just watching them all. The noise, the laughter, the way some would light up and rush to hug each other. And the occasional person who seemed lost and bewildered. I suppose that look of “who are these people” probably crossed my face now and then too.
There was a slide show of all our classmates who have passed on. One person remarked he recognized as many of those faces as he did those of the living present. I agreed, but I think it was because the pictures were from a school yearbook and I tend to remember the way we were.
I was also disappointed that some didn’t show up. I think I understand better now than ever before why people would scold me when I missed past reunions. We all shared an experience that defined us and so that sharing is something we cherish every few years when we meet again. We miss the absent and the departed more because of it.

#PCHSReunion I just remembered something one of my classmates told me. He said one of the reasons he made sure to come to the reunion was to tell me he shares my animosity toward Agolf Twitler. He is a Facebook friend and sees my daily tirades and memes about the clown. I’m not entirely flattered to be remembered for that but I will take it. Somebody is listening.
I made an effort to leave politics alone but I heard a few conversations about the current political scene and none of them were flattering toward Agolf or the GQP.

#PCHSReunion Another thought makes me chuckle. I didn’t drink anything but soda last night. It messes with my blood sugar. There were a few who got pretty tipsy and I think it loosened their lips a bit. That was fun too. In vino veritas.
My horrible hearing had me at a disadvantage and it was even more a problem while trying to listen to those inebriated few.

#PCHSReunion I discovered there are a few who read my Blog after all. They mentioned a few things I have posted over the years and how sometimes I make them laugh. I’m sure they were just too kind to also tell me sometimes I make them shake their head and wonder if I’ve lost my marbles.

#PCHSReunion This was one of slides at the reunion. I was on the yearbook committee and we sneaked this into the yearbook back when. Our advisor was not too happy with us. I am surprised it was such a hit after all these years.

#PCHSReunion Over the years it has become very not PC to mention the word “Chinks”. I’ve heard social media will filter those comments out. Most of us who were “Pekin Chinks” were and are proud of it. So there.
