Nerds don’t just happen to dress informally. They do it too consistently. Consciously or not, they dress informally as a prophylactic measure against stupidity.
I had the most vivid dream. And I remembered it, which I don’t usually. I think it was heavily influenced by too much TV and politics.
It starts out I am at this big outdoor gathering that is like some big hybrid cross between a wedding and a funeral. Everybody is wearing tuxedos and fancy ball gowns.
All of a sudden I am challenged to a duel by some guy who looks like Agolf Twitler wearing a lot of drag queen makeup and dressed in a sheet like the Bone Saw Arab Guy.
Then we start throwing bowling balls at each other which morphs into hundreds of people throwing bowling balls. Just like the grade school dodge ball games we used to have with the red rubber balls, except we are all crazy strong and we are flinging bowling balls.
I win “my honor” by nailing drag queen bone saw guy in the knee and he limps off. At this point we are in a raging blizzard just like on the show Highway Thru Hell and we are all wearing kilts like the show The Outlander. Bowling balls were whizzing by and splashing through the slush.
Even weirder everybody is celebrating my victory and yelling in a mixture of Canadian and Scottish Highlander accents.
AAYY? and AYE at each other and pounding each other on the back.
Suddenly I was awake with an urgent need for the bathroom and I wobble out of the bedroom thinking “WTF WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?”
Too much TV and politics.

On this day in 2011 I returned home with a large incision stitched up on the left side of my face. A skin cancer lesion had been removed. Nothing has returned since so I guess they got it all.

Some food for thought regarding the adulation of Bush Sr. and the Gulf War. Please remember that Sadam’s aggression against other nations wasn’t so concerning until —— until he went after the Saudis. Suddenly it was so important. And now who is wielding a bone saw?
He was also implicated in the October Surprise hostage release negotiations that killed Carter’s re-election. Unless you think the hostage release timing was just a wild coincidence?
