I check out the history.com site every morning to see what was of note in history for the day. Todays Slavery abolished in America gave me pause. I agree it ended the physical ownership of people but by no means did it end slavery. It could be argued that economic slavery merely took its place.

Another historical note one year ago today a dumpster was delivered to our old house. It was the unofficial beginning of our great dumpster dump so we could ultimately flee to a new home.

We were talking this morning about Traceys recent flight to and from Phoenix. There are weight restrictions and they weigh your luggage. This lady was just a little over the weight limit on her checked bag so she had the option of either paying extra or taking something out of that bag and putting it in her carry on bag.
What Earthly sense does this make? Regardless of which bag it ended up in the weight in the plane remained the same. So why make her transfer it into another bag? The idiocy of modern day airline red tape is truly stupid and arbitrary.
