I haven’t been blogging every day events like grass cutting, the weather, my medical woes, etc. etc. because I thought they were getting sort of boring day after day.
And I have been so jaded about the pandemic, politics, etc. I have passed on that commentary too.
Still, I have noted shifts in social media and news that are really bordering on weird.
I check through the history of the day posts —— mostly on the AP news site and Wikipedia. It was normal to see an emphasis on political people, movie & TV stars and sports heroes. Some months ago there became more coverage of gay rights, trans issues, pronouns, etc.
In just the past year suddenly the emphasis has been added to copaganda and military titles when referring to historical events. American media is beginning to once again rewrite historical events as viewed by the authoritarians and it is bothersome.
