#Obituary The appliance guy Bill Benson has died. We did a lot of business with him over the years and never a bad word to say. We continue to shop there now with his son, Scott, running the business. I’ll always remember Scott as the little kid popping up out of a washing machine in the TV commercial. Obituary

#TinBadgeTyrants I recently fell down a rabbit hole of watching videos of people recording police interactions. At first I was ambivalent about these so-called “auditors” recording in public places and refusing to identify themselves when police inevitably showed up. After watching a few of these I began to see a pattern I’ve recognized my whole life. Most cops don’t believe people have a right to privacy and use their badge to harass people. One of my favorites is a guy with a dash cam who politely told the cop, “I don’t answer questions.” The cop immediately takes offense as if he has the right to question him about anything and demands answers. The right to remain silent has been proven time and again, but you wouldn’t know by these interactions.
