I have a different definition. I believe if you’ve paid your dues and don’t get what you are “entitled” to, than you have a right to feel entitled. Very often “someone else” is indeed “holding you back”. I was entitled to a better health care plan than what I received from CAT. When I was hired it was advertised as free for life and my wages were reduced accordingly. I didn’t get that and it wouldn’t have mattered how hard I worked or the quality of my work.
I was cheated out of what I was entitled to.
