In 1962, scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology succeeded in reflecting a laser beam off the surface of the moon. Back in the early 80s I was very into ham radio and the big thing at that time was operators bouncing focused radio waves off the moon back to the Earth. I didn’t have that kind of equipment but it was cool.  |
