Clockmaker Petr Skala checks Prague’s Old Town astronomical clock, during the symbolic start of renovation of the Old Town hall tower at the Old Town Square in Prague, Czech Republic. The astronomical clock will be restored into form from the end of 19th century with original elements. Some parts will have new colors and propulsion of clock machine will be changed too. The reconstruction and restoration works of Prague’s Old Town hall and astronomical clock are planned to take 18 months with costs of about 50 million Czech crowns (€1.85 million). The Old Town hall was built in 1338.
