An archeologist works behind a wall bearing frescos of animals in a house discovered during excavation works, in Pompeii, Italy, on Oct. 5th. Archaeologists excavating near Porta Vesuvio, in an unexplored part of Pompeii, have discovered a richly painted house with incredibly intact frescos and a majestic lararium, a shrine to the guardian spirits, one of the largest discovered in the city buried when Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD.
