Extinction Rebellion New York City, a member organization of Extinction Rebellion, an international movement engaged in nonviolent direct action to confront climate change, protested in front of New York City Hall the inaction of politicians regarding climate change. A large group of people protesters staged a die in on Chambers Street blocking traffic and multiple people where arrested. Two climate activists hung up a banner from traffic lights reading “Declare Climate Emergency” and were also arrested by NYPD. |
