The number of U.S. adults using cannabis and hallucinogens remained at historically high levels in 2023 while alcohol use and binge drinking among younger adults continued to drop, researchers said this week. The latest figures released Thursday from the Monitoring the Future survey by the University of Michigans Institute for Social Research and the U.S. National Institutes of Health showed that adults in two age cohorts 19 to 30 and 35 to 50 are continuing their trend of consuming more and more cannabis and hallucinogens, such as LSD and psilocybin mushrooms. |
