A flotilla of little ships arrive off Dunkirk, France, Thursday May 27th, 2010, to mark the seventieth anniversary of Operation Dynamo. The ships sailed from England in a reenactment of the massive operation in May 1940, when hundreds of vessels, made up of mostly fishing vessels and privately owned boats set sail across the English Channel enabling the evacuation of 225,000 British troops and 125,000 French from the Dunkirk beaches during World War Two. |
