Over 500 balloons take to the sky at dawn in the 1st wave of the morning Mass Ascension at the 49th Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta on Oct. 2nd, 2021. In the fall, a wind pattern known as the “Albuquerque Box”, created in part by the local terrain, makes it possible for a balloon to land in roughly the same spot it took off. |
