Moscow • Opposition leader Alexei Navalny appears on video link from prison at Moscow city court. The court rejected Navalny’s appeal against the nine-year sentence he is serving for fraud and contempt of court, charges that he denies. Reuters reported that during the hearing Navalny lambasted Vladimir Putin, casting him as a madman who had started a ‘stupid war’ in Ukraine. |
