The conversation eventually led to the number of people who applied for the job and their qualifications or lack of them. She said she had one fellow bragging on his resume that he has a Master’s degree in political science.

Now what on Earth can that degree possibly do for somebody applying for a medical job? In fact, what the hell is “political science” anyway?

Talk about an oxymoron. How does one manage to waste a ton of money on a degree that can’t possibly be a science if it applies to politics?

This is like the ultimate double whammy when it comes to a statement about the current status of our society and the economy. Some guy wastes tens of thousands of dollars to get an empty Master’s degree and then uses it to apply for a $12.22/hour job. Can our culture be any more screwed up?

She didn’t even bother to reply to him much less offer an interview. At the other end of the spectrum she received one application with nothing more than a name and a phone number on it and another she could hardly decipher it was so full of bad grammar and misspelled words.

I just keep coming back to the “political scientist” dude ... It’s no wonder our country is so screwed up if we even acknowledge the existence of such nonsense much less give people degrees for it.

Makes me wonder if there is a course of study for “chair sitting” or “email reading” ... those are also worthless activities we pay a lot of money for people to do.

How about “meeting management” ... wait ... we have that already. It’s called an “executive assistant”. Good Grief.
