A photograph of Breonna Taylor, who was murdered killed in her own apartment by Louisville, KY, police officers, is projected onto a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee on Monument Avenue in Richmond, VA.
I like this repurpose.

Nice use of the statue but it still needs to come down. It is a
slap in the face of every black person in America and to everyone
that doesn’t think we ought to put traitors on pedestals.

Michael T.

I agree —— but in the meantime I appreciate this effort.

A woman walks on streets that have been blocked and closed to vehicle traffic as the community awaits the findings of the grand jury in the case of Breonna Taylor, a black woman who was murdered shot dead in her apartment by police, in Louisville, Kentucky.
The police state announces a “state of emergency” days before announcing what they know is the wrong decision to refuse to hold state agents of murder accountable. Despicable.

Sadly, I doubt the murdering cops will ever be indicted.

In 2020, months after the police murder killing of Breonna Taylor thrust her name to the forefront of a national reckoning on race, the city of Louisville agreed to pay the black woman’s family $12 million and reform police practices as part of a settlement. #BLM #BreonnaTaylor

Obviously there has been no “reform”. It really disturbs me to see the ambulance chaser lawyer Ben Crump sitting there too.

In 2020, a Kentucky grand jury brought no charges against Louisville police for the murder shooting death of a black woman, Breonna Taylor, during a failed drug raid; prosecutors said officers were justified in using force to protect themselves after facing gunfire. (Charges of wanton endangerment were filed against fired Officer Bret Hankison for shooting into a neighboring home.) In Louisville and cities nationwide, people protesters took to the streets in anger over the killings of black people by police; (insert obligatory copaganda here) two officers in Louisville were shot and wounded during the demonstrations. #BreonnaTaylor
