Forty-three people perished in the accident and another eight were injured in the collision on a country road about 60 km (35 miles) east of Bordeaux, the local prefect’s office said in a statement.

People walk during a demonstration to pay homage two days after a fatal bus crash in Puisseguin, in Petit-Palais-et-Cornemps, southwestern France, on Oct. 25th. At least 41 people on the coach, whcih was taking pensioners on a day excursion, were killed shortly before dawn on Friday when it collided head on with a truck and burst into flames. The truck driver and his three-year-old son also died.
