It was nice to get that extra hour of sleep last night. (#DST) I’m sure my biological clock will be a bit messed up for a few days until I get readjusted.

I really wish they would pick one time or another and quit changing. There is really no purpose that I can see to continually bobbing back and forth.

Okay —— so I forced myself to stay in bed an hour later. My clock says it is 5 a.m. but now it is really 4 a.m. I just wish they would pick a time and stay with it.

I think the folks in Arizona have the right idea. Leave the darn clocks alone. It will take a week for my body to catch up with this foolishness again.

My body clock is still working on #DST —— I went to bed way too early and could only sleep until 2 a.m. I managed to stay in bed until 3:30 a.m. or so and now here I am —— sort of awake.

Don’t you just love changing your clocks twice a year? I wonder if we will ever get civilized enough to stop this nonsense because I am quite sick of it. It will be a week now before I stop waking up too early.

I think I may finally be adjusting to the time change. It IS nice to have the sun up an hour earlier in the morning. I realize the sun doesn’t actually —— well you know what I mean!

My internal body clock has not adapted. A couple of our clocks have sprang forward on their own but I still have about 4 clocks (I think) that still need to be sprung. And the clock in the #Blazer.

I am the official house clock spring forwarder I guess. The clock in the #Honda Hybrid will eventually fix itself but it is a couple weeks off because nobody told it they changed the rules.

Every time we do this clock business I wish again and more fervently that we would just pick a time and STAY THERE!

The time change wasn’t so bad for this year —— for some reason I actually slept the extra hour instead of getting up after the same number of hours sleeping but an hour earlier by the clock. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

We celebrated the end of Daylight Saving Time (#DST) by ordering a large weather clock from #Staples to put in our sun room. It had to be ordered because they don’t stock it. They don’t seem to stock much of anything I ever want.

I reluctantly signed up for their Rewards card to get free shipping to our house because I am tired of going back to the store to pick things up.

I don’t suspect there will be any other benefit and I fear I will be inundated by spam and junk mail as a result. We shall see. In the meantime we await the arrival of our new clock.

Update 11/03/16
We pitched that clock earlier this year. The remote temperature sensors hardly worked and ate batteries. Now we have a smaller version that works a little better but still eats batteries.

Twice a year most of us have to change our clocks because America has yet to find its way out of the Dark Ages where we continually try to master time. And at least that often we see articles like this one below. Will we EVER stop fooling with the clocks? #DST

#DST As usual with each time change my body clock does not want to cooperate. I managed to stay in bed until almost 5 a.m. but I could just as well of gotten up an hour earlier and spent some time on the computer because I didn’t really sleep much that last hour. And as I do twice a year I ponder ——
“WHY THE HELL CAN’T WE JUST LEAVE THE DAMN CLOCKS ALONE!?”

I have a hard time sleeping late. Now with setting the clocks back an hour I get to “fall back” for an extra hour of insomnia.

I have never met anyone who thinks changing the clocks twice a year is a good idea. Some say they think it is because we need to get back to that extra hour of sun in the morning so the kids don’t have to walk to the bus stop in the dark. So don’t move the clocks forward in the first place.

I’m thinking this is an example of just how powerless we are as a society when the majority of people, who complain bitterly about this foolishness, can’t get something this simple corrected.

We continue to live in a bygone past where we think we can control time by moving our clock settings.

I went to bed an hour early and made myself stay in bed for eight hours hoping it would help me with the #DST time change. So far so good. Now I will be spending odd moments throughout the day wondering which clocks have been changed and which ones are wrong. It is this twice a year change that reminds me of how many clocks we own.

#DST I almost made it to 4 a.m. this morning. I changed the clocks last night and stayed up a little over an hour later than usual hoping I could sleep a little later. Not too bad I guess.

It will take at least a week to get used to the change. I do wish this bi-annual ancient ritual would be ended. I don’t know anybody who likes it. You would think something as simple as getting rid of this hated anachronism could be abolished. Guess not.

I nearly reprogrammed The #Blog because the time stamp was wrong, but after some thought figured out the flaw in the #DST local time vs GMT fiasco the so-called “experts” have fostered.

Our local clocks dropped back an hour at 2 a.m. our local time but the Blog servers are in California. So at (the new) 3 a.m. local time HERE it was still only 1 a.m. DST in California until it changed there an hour later. For an hour the time stamps were still off by an hour. I’m glad I waited or I would have been chasing time changes again an hour later.

The reason this disturbs me is that not long ago this was all up to me to program for local time but the geniuses who write server code decided normal humans were too stupid to figure these things out for themselves and locked that ability out for local programming. Clearly not taking into account the time difference between servers and local users in different time zones. We are going back to everyone thinking the world revolves around their local time. For them the sun circles the Earth I guess.

THIS is why the concept of #ArtificialIntelligence terrifies me. It will be programmed by “experts” who don’t even understand how time zones work.

I’m just glad the servers are not in Hong Kong.

Coalition of sleep experts calls for end to daylight saving time. Experts say the political momentum is building to end the United States’ more than 70-year-old seasonal time change, according to new information. Daylight saving time is slated to arrive this year on March 9 and switch over again on Nov. 2. The coalition leading the charge includes the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, National Sleep Foundation, Save Standard Time, Sleep Research Society and the Society for Research on Biological Rhythm. Many experts argue that health is the driving factor, and that standard time aligns more closely with the body’s natural circadian rhythms.

For years, Congress has tried to put a lock on the clock, get rid of seasonal time change and decide whether to make daylight saving time or standard time permanent. A Senate Committee for Science, Commerce and Transportation hearing Thursday didn’t decide the issue. Although many Repuglican and Dimocrat Senators and witnesses agreed that time changes are unnecessary, the could not agree whether to stick with standard time or daylight saving time.
Ignorant massholes can’t even agree on something this simple.
