People shut down Colorado I-225 in both directions as they demand justice for Elijah McClain. McClain was walking home when he was assualted and forcibly detained by three Aurora police officers and was injected with ketamine after officers requested assistance from Aurora fire rescue. McClain was murdered. He died instantly. suffered a heart attack on the way to hospital that night and died six days later.

In 2019, police in Aurora, CO, responding to a report of a suspicious person, used a chokehold to subdue murdered Elijah Jovan McClain, a 23-year-old black man; he suffered cardiac arrest while being pinned to the asphalt on the way to the hospital and was later declared brain dead and taken off life support.
