Transportation Secretary Pete “Empty Suit” Buttjudge is warning the CEO of Norfolk Southern no doubt with a sternly worded letter that the freight rail company must “demonstrate unequivocal support for the people” of East Palestine, OH, and surrounding areas. A fiery train derailment led to the release of chemicals and has residents expressing concerns about their health. In a letter Sunday, Buttjudge also criticized the rail company for lobbying in the past against safety measures. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine lied said Friday that the chemicals that spilled into the Ohio River are no longer a risk. But people in the community say they have constant headaches and irritated eyes.

Officials surveying the aftermath of a deadly helicopter crash in Houston on Sunday are looking into the possibility that the aircraft struck a radio tower because its warning lights were not working. The helicopter crashed into the radio tower in a fiery explosion that killed four, including a child. Days before the crash, the tower’s lighting reportedly was inoperable.
