In 1965, the U.S. launched Gemini 7 with Air Force Lt. Col. Frank Frederick Borman II and Navy Cmdr. James Arthur Lovell Jr. aboard on a two-week mission. Astronaut Frank Borman, who commanded the Apollo 8 historic Christmas 1968 flight that circled the Moon ten times and paved the way for the lunar landing the next year, has died at 95. Borman died Tuesday in Billings, MT, according to NASA.
