I am really uncomfortable with the outcome of the #GeorgeZimmerman trial. I find it hard to believe a person can pursue, confront and eventually kill a person and get off completely free. It may not have been premeditated murder, or even second degree murder —— but it was a homicide. And it wasn’t a “chance encounter” or “they crossed paths”. He went after the kid even after told to allow the police to handle it.

I’m with you for exactly the reason you stated. I did not follow the trial but regardless of what happened at trial, what you stated above are irrefutable facts. If he had done as he was told Travon would still be alive.

Hi Michael,
I find the whole thing frustrating and for the most part I have refrained from arguing with the many who believe the shooting was justified because Martin caused injury to #GeorgeZimmerman. My feeling is that we really don’t know who attacked whom —— Martin can’t tell his side of the story, he is dead. Zimmerman’s past paints him as a bigot and a bully in my mind. And while Martin’s past isn’t that of a saint either, it does not warrant a death sentence just for being a stranger in Zimmerman’s self appointed zone of defense. I am most frustrated with the media constantly painting it as a “chance encounter”. It was not. Nor do I see any way we can get to “self defense” for Zimmerman when he admits approaching Martin first. We don’t know who initiated 1st contact, but my bet is it wasn’t Martin. Sadly the racism is just too evident throughout. Sorry —— off my soap box now!
