The world’s shortest person, He Pingping, shakes hands with a three-year-old Japanese girl in Tokyo, on February 13th 2009. He said on Friday that his small size let him slip through tiny spots and eat as much as he wanted for a pittance.

The world’s shortest man has died, Guinness World Records said yesterday. He Pingping, who stood just over 29 inches tall, was 21.  He - born in China - was in Rome taking part in a television show when he suffered chest problems. He was taken to the hospital, where he died over the weekend.
