I was encouraged to read it by my seventh grade teacher.
#Memories
This one really jogged my thoughts because I hadn’t thought about Mr. Petrie for years. He always encouraged me (and everyone else) to read, and to write journals, poetry and jot down our thoughts. The very idea of banning books would have angered him too. He often said, “Read everything you can, because you can’t learn to write without reading. You don’t have to agree with what you read, but it will help you articulate what you do or don’t agree with.”
